Bill LaFlamme
My wife and I moved to Jupiter, Fl in 1987, but my photography started when I was a teenager working for Keystone Cameras in Paramus, N.J. with my 126 camera. Keystone was a division of Konica and I purchased my first 35mm, which was a Konica, then joined the U.S. Army Security Agency. I was finishing Quartermaster School in Virginia and brought my new camera with me. A week before finishing school, my camera was stolen out of my locker. Brand new and never used. I then purchased a small camera and shot photos while in the Army. Unfortunately, I was not able to take a photo when I marched in front of Brigadier General George S. Patton III while I was stationed at Fort Hood, Tx.
I met my wife at Fort Hood and after 3 years, we left the Army, moved to N. J., and then to South Florida. My wife designed cabinets and won a Canon AE1 for her cabinet designs. I still have it. My first DSLR was a Canon 30D, which I donated to a charity that I am still affiliated with, but only after I purchased a 6D, which I still have along with a Canon 5D MarkIV.
I joined a local camera club in 2014 and a friend suggested going with him to the 2015 Stuart Airshow, close to my home. It was the most unexpected emotional time I can remember. I remember deleting all my F-16 photos because every photo was blurry. I love the military and what they stand for. To watch and hear the aircraft at the airshows is very addicting.
