Arnoud Schoor is a professional military aerial photographer based in the Netherlands.
He studied graphic design in college, joined the Royal Netherlands Air Force, and was chosen for photography training.
He presently serves as Specialist Combat Camera/ Aerial Photographer for the Audio Visual Service of Defense. Duties include air-to-ground reconnaissance photography, and air-to-air stills and video. He has flown in. among others, the Alouette III, F-16B, PC-7 Pilatus, C-130H Hercules, BO-105, AS-532 Cougar, CH-47D Chinook, AB412 Agusta Bell, Blackhawk, and Fokker F60.
Arnoud emphasizes that successful air-to-air missions require a good flight plan and clear briefing to plan aircraft positions. ‟Pre-visualization is the most important thing,” he writes. ‟Make the picture before you push the button!”
