Jim Owens
I developed an interest in sports photography later in life after my sons started playing football in high school. In 1999 I was hired as a freelance sports photographer for the local paper, the “Cincinnati Enquirer”. In the following 23 years, I was hired as a sports photographer for Icon Sports Images then subsequently for USA Today Sports. I covered many events including the NFL, MLB, NCAA Football and Basketball as well as the Kentucky Derby.
After retiring as a freelancer in 2022, I took my passion for aviation and combined it with my experience as a professional photographer. As a USAF and USAFR Veteran, I fell in love with aviation, particularly military and warbird aircraft. I am a docent at the Tri-State Warbird Museum in Batavia, Ohio and also am a member of Cincinnati Warbirds EAA Squadron 18.
