Mike Gagarin

Mike Gagarin

At times, luck plays an important role in photography. Often is the case of being in the right place at the right time.

Hi, my name is Mike Gagarin and I am a self-taught photographer. I took up photography some gazillion years ago while stationed in Southeast Asia. I purchased a rather inexpensive Pentax camera that conceptually was somewhat challenging for me. Through trial and error, I was able to capture a few good shots. Fast forward to today and after retiring as a wildland firefighter I needed to reinvent myself. Along comes photography once again.

Nowadays, you might just find me chasing the “grand landscape, freelancing as a photojournalist, or trying to get that aviation photograph that says “wow”.

See you on the tarmac!
